Ratings

My movie does not contain any element of nudity or sexual activities. Neither does it have an element of foul language but if i look at how i will continue the movie, it might contain an extremely slight element of sexuality and/or drug usage like cigarette or beer etc. However as far as the opening sequence is concerned, anybody can watch it!

Music

The music that i have added to my opening sequence is completely original. The music was played on a keyboard by my friend from college. He plays the keyboard at our college music society and is main pianist of our college. Being a good friend he agreed to come over to my place and play some tunes for my final task. Thanks to him my movie finally came out what I wanted it to be.

My Favorite Clip!

This shot had to be recorde many times to get perfection, but this first time was totally an epic performance which made us burst into laughter to such an extent that it took us all 10 minutes to control ourselves! It literally brought tears to our eyes and stomach aches... I just fell to the groud after they bumped into each other!
This clip really starts me laughing like a lunatic whenever i see it!

The preparation for the final video: Titles and Credits

Confusions

I did not know how to upload the video onto my blog and I was in a lot of confusion. No one had told me how to post my final cut and preliminary excercise onto my blog and I did not have a single clue what I was to do. I asked my friends but they too did not know how to upload their videos. Well then I asked the media officer at my father's office who handles our telecision channel, and he told me about vimeo and how to upload the movie there and embed it on the blog.

What I have learnt from my experience

When I look at my preliminary excercise and my final cut I see a vast difference in my work. My grip on camera shots and angles has increased. My movie making skills have increased and I feel that in a few years time I would be be near to a professional movie maker. I have learnt new tips and tricks of editing. Using so many different softwares has taught me a lot of things. taking interviews from people about their views has given me a lot of confidence in myself.

Choice of Font

I have decide to pick a plain white font for my final cut. This is because white is a peaceful colour and so is my movie. It does not have any action in it neither does it have any vulagrity. So i think that white would look fresh and peaceful in my final cut.

Equipment used in my Movie

Actors for my Movie

At first i was really in a mess as i could not find a female actress. I asked every girl at my college if they would do this movie scene for me, but every girl just rejected it. I did not know what to do. Well, then i found a girl and she said yes. every thing was settled and the next day i had to shoot my movie. the "next day" came and the girl came to me saying that she would not be able to act for my final cut. I was upset and angry at her at the same time. However i got over it somehow and i went to F. C. College where i was to shoot my movie. I thought that I would just shoot the boy that is Ali's part that day. Then I asked some girls of the college if they would be interested to act. Shabnam was the fourth girl I asked and she agreed. Therefore I had to shoot the whole movie in that limited time of 5 hours.

Shabnam Nawaz as Aliya, the female actress.

Acting Description: Shabnam is the main girl of my final cut. she is playing the role of the hot shot - the most recognized girl of the college.

Actress Description: Shabnam is literally the most recognized girl in the F. C. College which is why she could play the perfect role in a very easy and real way. I just had to give her the instructions and she had to be herself. In real life she is an athelete as well as a professional model and actor so i did not have much trouble in explaining how to act her scenes out. We did not even practice once with her before this and still she played the perfect Hot Shot!

Aun Ali Jafri as Alex, the geek of the college.

Acting Description: Aun Ali Jafri acted as the nerd/geek of the college who is new there and does not have any friends. I chose him to narrate my movie also as he has a very clear voice and good grip on the English Language.

Actor Description: Ali is a very kind, gentle and humble boy. A perfect actor as well! He played the role of Charlie Chaplin at our colleges' Annual play and was appreciated and commented on as best actor. therefore I just had to tell him what he had to do and he was on his own! I believe he made the perfect geek in my movie. Ali has a very clear and bold voice and an extremely good knowledge of English Language and Literature therefore i told him to narrate in my movie as well. The narration was done the very next day of the shooting and he was happy to come to my house for it. As a good actor, Ali played the perfect geek!

Overall my actors were good and almost professionals. They saw each other for the first time, but still they acted quite above what my expectations were! In conclusion, I was happy to see the final results.

Script

I have planned to make the whole movie with narration and very few dialogues as the time for the movie is very short i.e. 2 minutes.

Shot 1Act 1:
Alex, the boy gets out of bed and thinks that he had no friends in his last school. He wishes that he finds ATLEAST one good friend at high school and gets up heading to the washroom.
Shot 1 Act 2:
Alex puts his bag on his shoulders and takes a deep breath of nervousness, then he goes out of his house and walks down the street to his new high school.

Shot 2 Act 1:
Aliya, the very posh and well known girl of the same high school gets out of bed and goes to the washroom.
Shot 2 Act 2:
She comes out and brushes her hair. She does her makeup.

Shot 3 Act 1:
Alex enters the college gate and looks around at the building.
Shot 3 Act 2:
Aliya follows in shortly after him and in a hurry bangs into him.

Shot 4 Act 1:
Aliya's books fall down and she bends down to pick them saying sorry to Alex. He also bends down to help her but keeps looking at her.
Shot 4 Act 2:
Aliya also looks at him as he stares at her and here the opening sequence of the movie clip ends.

NARRATION:The whole movie clip was narrated as follows by the actor Aun Ali Jafri.

So this is a story, a love story of Alex a young charming... aaa... geek!
Well this geek is ready to dive into the pits of hell... oh i mean highschool.
Oh look at that puppy dog face and those gigantic glasses. How he wishes he could find the arms of a friend.
Here she is... The dream girl of every boy.
And here comes the girl of his dreams... Aliya.
Just so you know shes the best a guy can get.
And that ggek over there... thats me. And this is the start of an epic highschool love story!

My Inspiration

At first i could not think of a good idea for a movie. However i searched a lot for some ideas. after a long time of browsing, i finally tought of this idea about a nerdy boy and a top class modern and fashionable girl and how they fall in love. i had seen a movie named "PYAR IMPOSSIBLE". This is an Indian movie but the story quite resembles the one that i am thinking of. This is howevr, my final idea and i am planning to just start my shooting in a weeks time.

Pyaar Impossible is a love story which seems to be a totally impossible love story!!!

·        Uday Chopra as Abhay Sharma

·        Priyanka Chopra as Alisha Merchant

·        Dino Morea as Varun Sanghvi / Siddhart "Sidhu"

·        Advika Yadav (Child artist) as Tanya, Alisha's Daughter

·        Anupam Kher as Abhay's father

·        Rahul Vohra as C.P

·        Arjun Sablok as Mr. Jaspreet

·        Jugal Hansraj as man at the Apple store (Special Appearance)

Screen shots of my inspirational movie

Ideas And Problems Before Making the Film

Idea 1:
A romantic comedy of an old couple who are telling their love story in the past.

Idea 2:
A romantic comedy where a boy's best friend falls in love with his (best friend's) sister at college.

Idea 3:
A romantic comedy about a somewhat nerdy boy who is new at college and does not have any friends but this one girl is very kind to him. They talk about how he shoul be able to attract women and stuff. But later on the two spend too much time together and fall in love.

The first idea did not suit me as i did not know where to find an english speaking old couple who would be happy to act for my movie so i just crossed it out.

The second idea as i was thinking would have required to many actors and that was the main problem! However i was confused until i saw the bollywood movie named "PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE" so now, I have gone for the 3rd idea as it is convenient, involves less characters and it is also economicaly helpful as i would not have to invest too much in making this film accept for the lights, camera and a bit of entertainment to get us all going!

Target Audience

Movie Genres And Target Audience

Although I like adventure movies and horror movies the most but due to lack of material and some other circumstances i would like to make a movie that would not cost too much and still be a good movie. In this case i would rather prefer a romantic genre for my movie.

Research on Romantic Comedy Films

Romantic comedy films, also known as "rom-coms" or "romedies", are films with light-hearted, humorous plotlines, centered on romantic ideals such as that true love is able to surmount most obstacles. One dictionary definition is "a funny movie, play, or television program about a love story that ends happily". Another definition states that its "primary distinguishing feature is a love plot in which two sympathetic and well-matched lovers are united or reconciled".
Romantic comedy films are a sub-genre of comedy films as well as of romance films, and may also have elements of screwball comedy and stoner comedy. Some television series can also be classified as romantic comedies.
In a typical romantic comedy the two lovers tend to be young, likeable, and apparently meant for each other, yet they are kept apart by some complicating circumstance (e.g., class differences, parental interference; a previous girlfriend or boyfriend) until, surmounting all obstacles, they are finally wed. A wedding-bells, fairy-tale-style happy ending is practically mandatory.
Pretty Woman is considered by many critics to be the most successful movie in the genre.

The basic plot of a romantic comedy is that two characters, usually a man and a woman, meet, part ways due to an argument or other obstacle, then ultimately reunite. Sometimes the two leads meet and become involved initially, then must confront challenges to their union. Sometimes they are hesitant to become romantically involved because they believe that they do not like each other, because one of them already has a partner, or because of social pressures. However, the screenwriters leave clues that suggest that the characters are, in fact, attracted to each other and that they would be a good love match. The protagonists often separate or seek time apart to sort out their feelings or deal with the external obstacles to their being together.
While the two protagonists are separated, one or both of them usually realizes that they are ideal for each other, or that they are in love with each other. Then, after one of the two makes some spectacular effort (sometimes called the grand gesture) to find the other person and declare their love, or through an astonishing coincidental encounter, the two meet again. Then, perhaps with some comic friction or awkwardness, they declare their love for each other and the film ends happily. The couple does not, however, have to marry, or live together "happily ever after". The ending of a romantic comedy is meant to affirm the primary importance of the love relationship in its protagonists' lives, even if they physically separate in the end (e.g. Shakespeare in love, Roman Holiday).
There are many variations on this basic plotline. Sometimes, instead of the two lead characters ending up in each other's arms, another love match will be made between one of the principal characters and a secondary character (e.g., My Best Friends Wedding and My Super Ex-Girlfriend). Alternatively, the film may be a rumination on the impossibility of love, as in Woody Allen's film Annie Hall. The basic format of a romantic comedy film can be found in much earlier sources, such as Shakespeare plays like Much Ado About Nothing and A midsummer nights dream.
